Believe me, there’s no a shortage in heaven.  Heaven will never run out of promises and provision promised to the sons of God. God’s nature is to bless and increase.

If there’s no shortage of resources in heaven, then the problem lies here on earth… with our capacity to receive what heaven releases to each of us.

In the story of the widow woman in 2 Kings 4, notice as soon as her capacity of jars were used up, the oil ceased to flow.

2 Kings 4:6 in the Amplified Bible says:

When the containers were all full, she said to her son, “Bring me another container.” And he said to her, “There is not a one left.” Then the oil stopped [multiplying].

How Many Jars Do You Have

The oil stopped multiplying when she no longer had the capacity (jars) to capture the oil.

What was the oil for?
2 Kings 4:7 in the Amplified Bible says:

“Then she came and told the man of God. He said, ‘Go, sell the oil and pay your debt, and you and your sons live on the rest.’”

The woman was able to pay all of her debts and save her sons from being taken by her creditors. Not only that, she got her retirement and that of her sons fully funded in one day.

However, if she had more jars; a greater capacity to receive, she could have assisted other people to get out of debt as well.

The lack of jars or lack of resources limited the widow to receive and to be a blessing to others.

When you expand your capacity to give and receive, you enlarge your Blessing Flow.

A Lesson From The Sea Of Galilee

The Sea of Galilee, the largest freshwater lake is sourced by the Jordan River from rainfall and natural springs from the north. It both receives and gives, a significant water flow to Israel, Jordan and Syria for domestic use and irrigation.

However, the same water flows into the Dead Sea, which has no outlet flow. It is the lowest point on earth. It is the world’s saltiest body of water. This salinity makes for a harsh environment in which plants and animals cannot flourish, hence its name… The Dead Sea!

The lesson we take from this illustration is that God created us to be like the Sea of Galilee, not the Dead Sea.

We should endeavour to have a great capacity to receive and greater capacity to release.

As your capacity increases to receive the blessings, so does the increase of the blessing flow in your life to release it.

Luke 6:38 in the Amplified Bible says:

“Give, and [gifts] will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will they pour [a]into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of your robe and used as a bag]. For with the measure you deal out [with the measure you use when you confer benefits on others], it will be measured back to you.”

For with the capacity you deal out, with the measure of that capacity you use, as you confer benefits and opportunities on others, blessings will be measured back to you.

When our capacity to give is expanded so is our capacity to receive.

The last part of Luke 6:38 in The Living Bible says:

“Whatever measure you use to give—large or small—will be used to measure what is given back to you.”

Our capacity determines our blessing flow. If we can increase our capacity, we can increase our blessing flow.
The children of Israel wandered in the wilderness for 40 years because they did not have the capacity to accept, appreciate and act on the blessings of God.

Can you believe that!

A journey that should have taken less than two weeks, took FORTY years.

As long a son of God does not learn how to enlarge his capacity to receive, he will be a wilderness wanderer.

God has the occupation of the land and possession of the promises in mind for you.

How Do You Increase Your Capacity To Receive?

The Word of God increases your capacity!

The Word of God produces Faith and Faith produces a supernatural knowledge to pitch your nets where the miracles are.

Our faith increases your capacity to receive.

It’s also important to understand that your capacity to receive must be enlarged in the triune man (spirit, soul and body).
We may be spiritually sound, with a great understanding of the God’s Word, but God does not want us to ignore our soul and body.

Our ability to increase our spiritual capacity is directly proportional to our time reading and studying the Word, praying, worshipping through our voice and our chequebook.

  • Giving, as taught before, is an act of worship. God will only increase the spiritual capacity of those who have a hunger for His Word and His Presence.

Our soul refers to our mind (intellectual capacity), our will (decision-making capacity) and our emotions (our capacity for feeling).

  • God tells us numerous times in Scripture that He does not want us ignorant or transformed to the thinking of this world.

Increasing our body capacity doesn’t mean weight gain.

  • It means our health, our relationships and capacity for success.

It’s time to believe God to enlarge your capacity to receive to increase your blessing flow!

I dare you today, step out in radical obedience and be willing to sow your ‘last meal’ should God require that from you.

Should God instruct you to borrow jars to multiply your oil, don’t just collect enough jars for you and your family.

Enlarge your capacity to be a blessing to the entire nation!
